About this story

Granny Hoot welcomes little ones from her balcony in the giant oak tree and begins today's story, Bimble's Biggest Strawberry. Bimble has grown one giant, shiny strawberry as big as a little pumpkin, and he is very proud. When Wobble hopefully asks, "Me too?", Bimble holds the strawberry close and says it is all his.

Bimble tugs it off its stem, but it is so heavy that it rolls away down the slope, and he hurries after it very, very slowly. Tamkin catches it in the meadow and offers to help, yet Bimble says no. He tries hiding the strawberry under a small leaf, then on top of his shell, but Wobble spots it and Fenna wonders why it is there. Bimble admits he does not want to share. Finally he eats a big bite alone. It is yummy, but the meadow is quiet, and he feels lonely.

Lila gives him a hug, and Bimble decides a strawberry this big is for sharing. He says sorry to Wobble, Tamkin and Fenna, and together they bring it to a party at the stump, where Lila has set out leaf plates and flowers. Everyone munches, Tamkin drums, Wobble dances, and they sing "Sharing Is More Fun!" Little ones learn that sharing is more fun than keeping everything all to yourself.

What your child learns

Sharing is more fun than keeping everything all to yourself.

Song lyrics

The song in this episode: Sharing Is More Fun!

Sharing is more fun! (more fun!)
Sharing is more fun! (more fun!)
One for you and one for me,
Sweet and juicy strawberry!

Tap, tap, tap the little drum! (ba-dum!)
Wiggle, wiggle, here we come!
Hold it out and pass it round,
Hop, hop, hop up off the ground!

Sharing is more fun! (more fun!)
Sharing is more fun! (more fun!)
One for you and one for me,
Sweet and juicy strawberry!
